  I filed for a new social security card on August 7th and they said it would take 2 weeks to receive it. September 20th and still haven't gotten it. They called 3 times between then to ask for information and still haven't sent it to me. Terrible

  They simply don't do their jobs. Filed papers at my local office of Martinsburg about 6 weeks ago. I was told then, it would take 4-6 weeks to process and become effective. Just called the national number to find out what my new payment date is. Turns out Martinsburg office just never bothered to file it to begin with. Im looking at another month and half from now for "processing" assuming they actually submit the information and from there, who knows how much longer for approval and receiving funds due. Then I'm told I can't talk to the person who handled my paperwork because he's out today for "training". But hey, at least his boss caught on I guess. Good to know someone recognized he needs to improve his ability to do his job.
